The thing that makes it especially strong for melee is Fuel the Blood (which should be 10/5, especially because of its synergy with Buzz Axe Bombardier), which adds an additive 200% damage to the Bloodsplosion for 7 seconds after a melee kill. The overkill damage allows for Bloodsplosions to stack, allowing for massive damage when chained on multiple enemies, which is one of Krieg’s instant raid boss killers, and especially devastating for mobbing, since the range of the explosions is deceptively large. Bloodlust stacks are gained rapidly on melee builds, since one melee kill will net you 65 stacks (plus number of swings to kill) during BAR, not including additional Bloodsplosion damage. Bloodsplosion’s damage is dependent on four variables: number of bloodlust stacks, overkill damage, grenade damage bonuses, and elemental bonuses based on the element the enemy is killed with, which, on melee builds, is generally explosive (strip the flesh is good for this). There’s a few properties and synergies that you should understand about Bloodsplosion, especially in regards to a melee build. So, I’ve read guides and watched videos but I still don’t understand Bloodsplosion. Slag + Torgue is a winning combination for Krieg. You can always get the mission Grog or a slag Rubi for healing utility as well. Look for any slag element gun with a high slag chance (a Slagy will do admirably, as would a slag Bone Shredder) and try for a Slagga in your spare time. You don’t need a Slagga, it’s just the premier slagging tool. I prefer my Harolds without the DP, but that’s a matter of preference. ![]() A Kerblaster (or a Peak Opener if you can get it from Haderax) would probably be a little better for most situations. The Seeker may be too slow and less precise than you want, I usually use it from a distance against slower enemies. Keep your eyes open for a Ravager or Hulk for less self explodey goodness. It does phenomenally well at distance but is a little suicidal up close. ![]() The SWORDSPLOSION!!! may soon be your favoritest killstick (you could get a Unicornsplosion from Butt Stallion in the Backburner too, it’s the same thing but it shoots unicorns instead of swords). I’d toss 1 or 2 in Blood Overdrive, but it’s not a great skill like Fuel the Blood is. You probably don’t need Fuel the Rampage, but you are solo and you have extra points. You’ll get full heals off 1/5 or 2/5 in Thrill of the Kill usually. 1 point in Thrill of the Kill goes a long way, even without a Leg Sickle. Pull the Pin and Light the Fuse are useless at high levels. I prefer to cycle in and out and so don’t take that skill. ![]() To put your question another way, how would being able to switch weapons faster not be more useful? I’d throw at least 1 point in there…you can then slag in FFYL before switching to a damage gun or your rapier (for melee damage if the enemy is still close)īlood Trance depends on your playstyle… Do you like being in RTB longer or do you like cycling in and out of it. ![]() I think the Redeem the Soul is actually a better skill solo as it gives you more FFYL time for free and you don’t have to down yourself to revive someone…basically you get all of its benefits without its normal downside
